ermanent cosmetic makeup is, quite simply, cosmetic tattooing. Hopie's Permanent Cosmetics are applied by making numerous micro insertions of natural pigments into the underlying layers of skin - tattooing. You may have also heard this process referred to as micropigmentation, dermapigmentation or permanent makeup - all names for the same thing. The pigment creates a soft, natural color to enhance the eyes, eyebrows and lips. It will never run, smear or wash off!
This technique is utilized by thousands of practitioners - including medical doctors - throughout the U.S. and around the world. It is a safe process when conducted by a medically trained technician (like Hopie) who follows the proper sanitation and sterilization requirements. Hopie does not use Premier brand Pigments.
Some uses for Permanent Cosmetics include:
Cosmetic application for those alergic to traditional cosmetics
Scar Cover-up
Areola Restoration
Vitiligo Mitigation
Alopecia Mitigation
Lip enhancement / Lip liner
Eyeliners and Eyebrows
Beauty Mark Application/Removal
ermanent Cosmetics replace the topical cosmetics you may be sensitive to, and contact lens wearers no longer suffer from makeup becoming lodged under their lenses. Those who have difficulty applying makeup, for whatever reason, can benefit from the lasting nature of Permanent Cosmetics. The application is just deep enough to penetrate the minute capillaries in the dermal layer of skin.
reparing for the process
The process may take from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on how much area is being treated. Most people can return to normal activities the same day. The process normally produces a little swelling to the surrounding skin, but generally nothing unsightly. You'll want to avoid (sweat-producing) heavy exercise for a day or two.
Any tweezing or waxing should be done at least 48 hours prior to the procedure; electrolysis at least 5 days before. You should not resume any method of hair removal for at least two weeks. If you wear contact lenses, you should bring your glasses with you and continue to wear your glasses for a few days after the procedure.
Please refrain from the use of alcohol, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen or Coumadin for seven days before and two days after any procedure.
You may wish to schedule the process a week or so before a particularly formal activity, since the colors may be darker the first few days than the final shade. This is the "stabilization" period, and the colors soften and grow more and more natural during this time.
Hopie does not use Premier brand Pigments.
ermanent Cosmetics come in a wide array of colors and Hopie - a master artist - can blend pigments to achieve an ideal color match for any type of skin. Results can be as subtle, or outstanding, as you (the client) wish. An initial "touch up" may be called for, several months after the initial procedure, and you may benefit from periodic maintenance, color re-enhancement or color re-freshing, over time. Otherwise, you won't worry about spending the time, energy or money to apply cosmetics each day, while always looking like you just spent an hour in front of the mirror.
Prices vary, of course, but we do give preference, in both pricing and scheduling, to repeat clients.
